We're a small start-up company, based in Singapore, that's run by 2 cats.
Origin Story
The name “Chonky Beckoning Cat” incapsulates the essence of what our company’s all about. Our founder, Tom Rafels, is a house cat who used to be CHONKY. Unfortunately, Tom came down with a serious illness, which caused him to lose all of his chonkyness and go into debt with his veterinarian.
BECKONING the help of his sister, Tonya, the two of them set out on a mission to get Tom healthy and pay off some of his vet bills. Leveraging the power of the internet and their innate cuteness in being cats, Tom and Tonya started their first venture together; pandering to CAT lovers on the internet and selling things they find around their apartment.

All items sold at Chonky Beckoning Cat have been locally sourced, here in our Singaporean apartment. We have over a decade of experience in identifying the most valuable and tasteful items from our home. Rest assure, we’ve paw-selected the finest quality products available to us and make them available to you. We really hope you love shopping with us!

The Products
Being house cats, we’re limited to selling what’s available in our apartment. However, we’ve worked hard to choose the finest quality items around the house that we think you’ll enjoy.
Yes, but only within Singapore. If your purchase is being shipped any where else, we’ll send your item to you through one of several international delivery services available to us.
Although we’d love to start branding our personalized food products and supplement items, Kristin doesn’t allow us to use her kitchen. However, we have thought about putting out a recipe book showcasing some of our favorite dishes! If we get enough interest from our customers, we’ll make that happen.
Unfortunately, we do not have any fans (silk fans, paper fans, folding fans, etc.) available for purchas at this time. However, we have become keenly aware, from several customers, that there is a niche need for “only fans”. We read you loud and clear! We’ll be talking to our supplier, Kristin, about restocking our apartment inventory with fans as soon as possible!

Yes. We’re really cats, named Tom Rafels and Tonya. We live with our human, Kristin, here in Singapore. We also have a roommate named Kevin who is a “Kevin”.

The internet is absolutely amazing, and it has really torn down the barrier-to-entry for all kinds of start-ups and for anyone who’s willing to watch a few YouTube videos.
So long as you have access to a computer (we’re using Kristin’s laptop while she away at work) and a valid credit card to purchase a domain name (We’ve borrowed a credit card from Kristin’s purse), you can start an online business too!
We’re not lawyers, so it’s probably ill-advised for us to be giving legal advise. Please consult an attorney and perform your own due-diligence if you have legal questions.
Setting up an e-commerce site proved to be the path of most convenience for the two of us when matching our skill sets, interests, and capabilities with potential revenue streams.
And it goes without saying that, being cats, we’re above charity work. We have no interest in setting up a “Go Fund Me” account or anything of that nature.
However…
If you feel inclined to give us a gratuity, for an excellent customer experience, we would not be opposed to excepting tips. We are currently looking into ways of making this an easy option for any valued customers who would like to do so.
